Eco Warriors
The Eco warriors are a group of dedicated students who are passionate about making changes to our school environment and our local community. The group consists of children from Year 1 to Year 6 who have numerous responsibilities around the school. From checking classes have turned their lights off to ensuring recycling is taking place, they keep a watchful eye on how sustainable and green we are as a school.
Inspired by the Pope's encyclical Laudato Si, they undertook a huge project in weeding our KS1 playground last year to make space for wildflowers to grow. Our Eco warriors also presented assemblies to the school to raise awareness of cutting plastic pollution. They collect litter weekly in our school grounds and in the local community. This term, we intend to create a large ocean mural mosaic using plastic bottle tops to highlight the plight of our marine creatures and the importance of doing more to save them.
